Mrs. Ruth Marie Risher, 70, entered into rest Monday morning, November 21, 2016, at her home on Sniders Highway, Ruffin.  She was the wife of the late Bobby Levine Risher.

 

A memorial service will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 26, 2016, from Shiloh Baptist Church, 10565 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.  The Reverend Ricky Crosby officiating.

 

Born October 17, 1946, in Lithonia, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Michael Dean Thompson and the late Betty Williams Thompson.  She was the retired owner of Marie’s U Name It, which was a well-known business throughout Walterboro and Yemassee.    She will always be remembered for her love of the outdoors, animals, and fishing.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. 

 

Surviving are:  five children, Melanie Allen Blake of Yemassee, Cynthia Diane Padgett of Ohio, Glenn Patrick Pruitt and his wife Connie of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Tania Peeples and her husband Howard of Early Branch, Coleman Sams his wife Nicole of Ruffin, two brothers, Michael Thompson of Lugoff and Andrew Thompson of Jedburg; sixteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as large host of beloved friends who affectionately knew her as “Grandma”.  She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, The Reverend Michael Blake; and a grandson, Joshua Blake. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Colleton County Council on Aging.
