Ms. Treacie Lavenia Nettles Garnsey, 76, of Ruffin, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at Trident Medical Center in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 10565 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 pm until the hour of service at the church.
Born July 30, 1940 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Lee Nettles and Treacie Evelyn Roberts Nettles. She was a retired manager from Dairy Land, where she had worked for 37 years. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She loved to sing in church, loved working in her yards, and enjoyed working on jigsaw and word search puzzles and playing BINGO. She also loved wrestling with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: her children, Treacie Hill of Walterboro, Robert Lee Garnsey (Lisa) of Swansea, Alvin Garnsey (Rhonda) of Walterboro, Annette Garnsey (Randy) of Yemassee, and Lisa Eder (Stuart) of Walterboro; brothers, Atticus Nettles of Beaufort and Marshall Nettles of Walterboro; sister, Viola Matthews of Shell Point; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, William Garnsey, Jr.; sister, Eve Roberts; and brothers, Adam Nettles, William “Bill” Nettles, and Wendell Nettles.
