Mr. Karl W. McMillan, of Waynesboro, Georgia, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 16, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Green Pond Baptist Church, 12295 Green Pond Highway, Green Pond, SC.
Born August 3, 1938, in Walterboro, SC, he was a son of the late Henry S. McMillan, Sr. and Vivian Kinsey McMillan. He graduated from Walterboro High School in 1956, and attended Clemson University. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he worked in the banking industry before retiring and raising thoroughbred horses. He was a former member of Bethany Methodist Church, Summerville, SC.
Surviving are: his wife, Gail Bennett McMillan of Waynesboro, Georgia; sons, Karl A. McMillan of Aiken, South Carolina, and J. Cary McMillan (Sharon) of Green Pond, South Carolina; brother, Fred A. McMillan (Alice) of Green Pond, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Evelyn McMillan Warren (James) of Green Pond, South Carolina; and nieces and nephews, Jody McMillan (Marcie), Jason McMillan (Jennifer), Grace M. Streit (Joe), Patrick K. McMillan, and Sarah R. McMillan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Lindsey Steinman, Kinsey McMillan, Reeves McMillan, Henry McMillan, and Darby McMillan; and one great grandchild, Avery Steinman. He was preceded in death by brother, H.S. “Sandy” McMillan, Jr.
