Mr. John Franklin Winn, 85, of Ehrhardt, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Johns Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Reid and Dr. Bob Craven officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 am until the hour of service at the church.
Born September 28, 1931 in Nixville, he was a son of the late Barney Elliott Winn, Sr. and Phoebie Marie Ginn Winn. He was affectionately known as the “Cookie Man” having sold Jack and Murray cookies for more than 30 years. He was active in St. Johns Baptist Church where he served in many capacities.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Sarah Bassett Winn of the home; daughter, Johnna Marie Morgan and her husband Shane of Brunson; two grandchildren, Rebecca Oeffinger of Elloree and A.J. Felder and his wife Bretagne of San Diego, California; two great grandchildren, Emelia Grace Felder of San Diego and Shiloh Liam Hill of Elloree; one sister, Myrtis Cope and her husband Rogers of Varnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Johns Baptist Church.
