Mrs. Jane Ayer Campbell, 67, of Ehrhardt, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Wilbur Robert “Willy” Campbell, to whom she was married for 45 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at St. Johns Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Born April 17, 1948 in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of Laurette Meeks Bassett and the late Charles Stancel Ayer. She was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, and loved her dog, “Spanky”.
Surviving are: her mother, Laurette Meeks Bassett of Ehrhardt; son, Joey Campbell and his wife Amanda of Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Sidney Campbell and Reid Campbell; brothers, Clyde Ayer and Charles Ayer, both of Ehrhardt; a special aunt, Dot Lahew of Beaufort; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda A. Wright.
