Guy Crosby

Mr. Guy Rufus Crosby, 86, of Hendersonville, entered into rest Wednesday morning, February 22, 2017, at the Veterans Victory House of Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, February 25, 2017, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Crosby Cemetery, 5860 Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.

Born December 11, 1930 in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was the last surviving of thirteen children of the late Eddie David Crosby and the late Hattie Savage Crosby.  For over forty years, he was employed by Simmons Irrigation on the Sydney’s Road in Walterboro, where to all, he became a beloved icon.  He began at Simmons Irrigation on April 10, 1963 and retired on February 15, 2008 as Chief Job Superintendant.  He personally had overseen the irrigation installation of over seventy golf courses in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.  He attended Hendersonville Baptist Church and will always be remembered as a simple man who loved hunting and fishing. 

Surviving are: three children, Michelle Crosby Davis and her husband Raymond of Hendersonville, Brian Guy Crosby and his wife Jennifer of Cottageville, and Kevin Russell Crosby and his wife Angela of Round O.  There are seven grandchildren, Brantley Davis, Bradley Davis, Courtnye Davis, Benjamin Guy Crosby, Chloe Crosby, Addison Crosby, and Owen Crosby.
