Gary William Campbell, Jr.

Mr. Gary William Campbell, Jr, affectionately known as “Hambone”, 50, of Seven Acres Road, Saint George, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May, 5, 2015 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2015, from Saint Matthews Baptist Church, 2593 Wire Road, Saint George.  

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony Saturday beginning at 11 o’clock in the church sanctuary. 

Born July 27, 1964, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina and was a son of the late Gary William Campbell, Sr. and the late Ivy Varner Campbell.   Gary was employed with the Dorchester County Public Works where he was a supervisor over the Storm Water Division.  He will always be remembered as a “Redneck Boy” who loved hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Saint Matthews Baptist Church. 

Surviving are: his wife of twenty-four years, Mrs. Bess Stanfield Campbell; two children, Matthew “Max” Campbell and Sarah Michelle – Cecile Campbell; an aunt, Ray Campbell of St. George; many cousins; and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be sent in his memory for his children, Max and Sarah, to be placed aside for their future, and these contributions may be sent to the family care of the funeral home, Post Office Drawer 50, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
