Dr. Brantley Arden Strickland, 52, of Walterboro, entered into rest early Friday morning, April 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family following a long and courageous battle for his life at McLeod Medical Center in Florence.
Born May 7, 1965, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the oldest born to James Arden “Jimmy” Strickland and Ilona Hiers Strickland. Brantley graduated from John C. Calhoun Academy (now known as Colleton Preparatory Academy) where he lettered in football and was the infamous No. 65 with the “Warhawks”. He received his Doctorate Degree from the University of South Carolina and to this day, was more than an avid fan and lover of his Gamecocks. He was a Certified Nuclear Pharmacist and having excelled at his vocation; sharing his work, education and knowledge always willingly with others. Through his career, he was afforded many opportunities that he forever cherished, from speaking in large forums to delivering Commencement Speeches. He was also an online professor for New Mexico State University.
He is survived by his family; his parents; Jimmy and Ilona of Walterboro; his wife, Lori Ellis Strickland; two children, Hagan Arden Strickland and Graycie Strickland; his brother, Jaymie Strickland and his daughter Madison; and a sister, Helana Strickland and her children, Braeden and Tyler.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2018, from Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 106 May Street, Walterboro. The Reverend Rich Johnston officiating. The committal will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
