Mrs. Dorothy Heape Turner, 90, of Ravenwood Road, Forest Hills subdivision, Walterboro, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Pruitt Healthcare in Walterboro. She was the widow of Austin Jeff Turner, who was the love of her life and husband of 53 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2017, at Green Pond Baptist Church, 12295 Green Pond Highway, Green Pond. The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
Born January 28, 1927 in Hampton county, she was a daughter of the late George Heape and Doris Eliza Bowers Heape. She was the owner and operator of Dorothy H. Turner Accounting for 50 years. She was a charter member of Northside Christian Church where she served as church treasurer for many years. She faithfully attended Green Pond Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sixty to Heaven Sunday School Class. Her life was her work and her family. She took special pride in taking care of her home and loved hosting family and friends at holidays.
Surviving are: her daughter, Mickie Reynolds and her husband Kirk of Walterboro; grandchildren, Shelton Reynolds and Lauren Reynolds, both of Walterboro; sister, Georgia Ann Williams of Walterboro; and two nephews, George Heape of Walterboro and Reverend Jim Williams of Green Pond. She was preceded in death by a niece, Dottie Williams Nettles; and a brother, George Edward Heape.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to: Operation Christmas Child, in care of Green Pond Baptist Church, Post Office Box 265, Green Pond, South Carolina 29446
