Calvin Crosby, Jr.

Mr. Calvin Crosby, Jr., affectionately known as “Cornbread”, 77, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Colleton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.  Interment will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Born August 25, 1937 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Calvin Crosby, Sr. and Elizabeth Crosby.  He was a long distance truck driver and served his country in the South Carolina National Guard.  He loved getting on the road and driving his truck and most of all taking care of his faithful companion, Poochie, and all of his goats.

Surviving are: his children, Calvin Crosby, III and Donna Gail Crosby, both of Walterboro; sister, Betty Ann Hewitt and her husband Paul of Walterboro; brother, Jessie Crosby and his wife Frances of Walterboro; and his best friend, Robert Terry of Walterboro.  He was preceded in death by his daughters, Mary Ann Crosby and Angela Crosby; and his brothers, Clyde Crosby and Charles Edward Crosby.
